It was a surprise to learnt that
Tiwa Savage’s marriage to Tunji Balogun, popularly known as Teelbizz hit the
rock some days ago.
In assumption, Tiwa Savage was
adorable. Viewed to be pleasantly in love and, especially, a working marriage,
but something was not right and the public did not know. The first thing to
see, here, is the ability to keep the public out of the loop in your marital issues
– even though you could seek for counsel when necessary.
Nothing happens so fast without any antecedents.
The problem of Tiwa and Teebillz’s marriage is hinged on different things,
among which are: Tiwa’s sacking of her husband as her manager; Tiwas’ family
involvement by asking Teebillz to stop managing his wife and look for another
lucrative job; allegation that Teebillz was always beating her up, and that she
had to move out of the house temporarily to stay with a friend; and Teebillz’s
fanciful spending, among other things.[1]
Unarguably, whether as a man or
woman – when marriage becomes difficult, life becomes unbearable and then a
partner will start to look for how to opt out.
What singles need to
know here
Every single person has the opportunity
of setting the records right. You can, easily, break a courtship than you can
break a marriage.
In fact, as Christians, you cannot
divorce your partner unless because of adultery (and that is when you catch the
partner red handed). “They say unto him,
Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her
away? He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered
you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. And I say
unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and
shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put
away doth commit adultery”. Matt
19:7-9.
You can decide now to either
continue or discontinue the relationship, provided you are seeing things that
you are not comfortable with. Tiwa Savage actually admitted that she did not
yield to warnings from family members about marrying Teebilz, thinking, she
said, that when they married his behaviour would change.
