We have experienced fear and
hopelessness at one time or the other (throughout the world).
In Nigeria, something that tops the
list of the citizenry’s desires is security. The mindless shedding of innocent
blood, aside from the ravenous boko haram sect, is uncountable only that boko
haram’s atrocities are glaring before the eyes of the world.
We will not play down on government
efforts toward combating crimes in Nigeria, but we will talk about absolute
security that God’s children enjoy.
The truth is that a nation cannot do
all things for the citizens: rather, citizens have to contribute to their
nation’s efforts in order to achieve progress and establishment.
In 2 Sam 21:1-3, “During the reign of David, there was a
famine for three successive years; so David sought the face of the LORD. The
LORD said, It is on account of Saul and his blood-stained house; it is because
he put the Gibeonites to death. The king summoned the Gibeonites and spoke to
them. (Now the Gibeonites were not a part of Israel but were survivors of the
Amorites; the Israelites had sworn to [spare] them, but Saul in his zeal for
Israel and Judah had tried to annihilate them.) David asked the Gibeonites, What
shall I do for you? How shall I make amends so that you will bless the LORD's
inheritance?”. NIV.
Although, what happened in the
scripture above was not about security threat: it was about provision. We could
see that what King Saul did to the Gibeonites brought three years of
consecutive famine upon the land of Israel. This means that the citizens can
determine what happens to their nations.
Citizens’
dispositions that bring security threat to their country
“Uprightness
and right standing with God (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and
relation) elevate a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” Prov
14:34, AMP.
Immorality; disregards to the rights
of the less privileged and powerless; cheating the widows and fatherless; discountenancing
the ways, words and servants of God; reversing the order of nature – where
people indulge in homosexuality; and blasphemy against God – all bring every
kind of calamities upon a nation.
According to Frederick Price:
In
our society today, there is a group of people who are called “lesbians”. These
are women who gravitate to other women for love and sex. The Bible says that
this practice is against nature, that God did not make women for women, or men
for men, but rather that He made women for men and men for women. To change
that natural order is to go against nature and nature’s God.[1]
What you should know that God turns
away from a wicked nation and deliver its citizens into the hands of their
enemies: the enemies could be sickness, terrorism, famine (drought), or war.
God cannot behold iniquities, but His eyes are upon the righteous (everywhere
they go). He protects and fights for the righteous.
How
God’s children security is guaranteed in the midst of calamities
From Google Search
There are times that when there is
security threat – God’s children are apprehensive but they are secured. This
could be seen in the issue of Prophet
Jeremiah when the King of Babylon,
Nebuchadnezzar, carried Jerusalem
captive along with Jeremiah; before
leaving the shore of Judah, Jeremiah was released to dwell safely
in the best remnant of the country and was also given things needed for his
upkeep (Jer 39).
Another case to prove the security
of God’s children was a real life experience of a daughter of one of the District Overseers of Foursquare Gospel Church, Nigeria.
The story was of a divine
intervention when she (alongside other passengers) was taken to a ritual den
where all the passengers were killed except the woman and her child. There were
series of incantations but there was a heavenly thunder that struck the two
ritualists’ leaders – resulting to her uniting with her family again.
Whether when travelling, in war, in
sickness, in sorrow, in danger, in hunger, in famine, and so on – God will not
leave His children to be deprived of His comfort and glory. “I will not leave you as orphans; I will
come to you.” John 14:18, NIV.
For those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, there is open door (now) to do, because God does not have
interest in the death of a sinner: you do not know when you will die, but you
must accept Jesus so that you could
reign with Him for eternity.
Please,
say this prayer below:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for the
salvation of my soul. I confess Jesus as
my Lord and Saviour: let me remain under your guide throughout my life. In Jesus name I prayed. Amen.
Observation:
Now that you are born again, you
should:
1.Get a copy of the Bible to read everyday.
2.Pray everyday.
3.Preach the gospel: talk to people
about God’s love and Kingdom – everyday.
4.Join a church and have constant
fellowship with them.
Regrads.
